Many of you have been doing awesome ink drawings for Inktober, which I just heard about maybe 2 days ago. So although I’m kind of late to it, last night I decided to do my own ink drawing. What possessed me to try drawing a leopard, I have no idea. It’s a really beautiful animal, don’t get me wrong, but I’m surprised I felt up to drawing all the spots.
This actually took way less time than I expected. Maybe 30-45 minutes? I drew the basic outline in light pencil then inked it & detailed it with a Micron brush pen (I almost always use a much finer Micron pen, but I’m glad I didn’t this time), except for an 005 pen for the whiskers.
I’m pretty happy with this one! I guess I see some issues, mostly with anatomy, but hopefully with practice I’ll improve in time.
This is gorgeous! Wow! Such a lovely leopard.

That is very good. Ink is perfect. Though kind of menacing.

It does look like he’s hunting, doesn’t it? Ha ha!

That’s a super leopard! I could get a strong sense of its strength from its musculature and steady gaze. Awesome job!

Thank you, Teresa! I know my anatomy’s not spot on, but I’m glad the leopard’s strength came through in this drawing.

Beautiful and suitably unnerving for the prowl of a leopard – great stuff! I say ‘unnerving’… he’s still adorable, and I still want to hug him. 😉

Thank you! Yeah, I still want to hug pretty much any feline no matter how dangerous they could be, ha ha!
