My final painting from Galveston! This was an airplane, a Boeing-Stearman N2S-3 from the Lone Star Flight Museum. I really love old airplanes & aviation in general, but I’ve never attempted to planes, or really any sort of vehicle, until now.
I technically started this drawing a bit earlier in June, but most of it was done last week while I was visiting family in Galveston, Texas. Donkeys are pretty great and I’m reading a book right now that has a couple of donkey characters in it, so a donkey drawing seemed appropriate at this time.
Continuing my experimentation with watercolor, I tried my hand at painting a flower at the request of my mother. It has an ink outline like a lot of my other stuff, but this time I went for a thinner line & a more loose quality (I think I tend to have bolder outlines). I’ve tried this a few times before, like with the watercolor of my cat.
I’m kind of getting this in right at the last moment! However, I’m feeling pretty good that I’ve managed to upload a drawing once a week so far this year.
Hello! I believe this has been my longest gap in posting, so it feels great to get another drawing up after all this time. I have been doing some drawing on and off, but mostly as gifts and I just haven’t had a chance to scan and upload the drawings after I’ve done them (and they are now out of my hands anyway).
Wow, it’s been awhile since my last post! Ironically, I’ve actually done a bit of drawing in the past month, although my lack of updates doesn’t really show that. However, I’ve had some gift drawings that I’ve made for people & unfortunately never got around to scanning them. I think I’ll try to get them up in the future, though.
For now, you can check out this drawing of a kitten I did while helping out at an all day work event yesterday. There was some downtime during the morning & lunch breaks, so I was able to get in a drawing.
