Here’s a kitten that I sketched out in pencil first and outlined in black ink. I then colored it in with my Pelikan watercolor set. I was experimenting with layering colors and attempted to give this one a more cartoony/illustration look. I recently got a bottle of Higgins white ink, which is what I used for the whiskers, but they’re a bit transparent.
Wow, it’s been awhile since my last post! Ironically, I’ve actually done a bit of drawing in the past month, although my lack of updates doesn’t really show that. However, I’ve had some gift drawings that I’ve made for people & unfortunately never got around to scanning them. I think I’ll try to get them up in the future, though.
For now, you can check out this drawing of a kitten I did while helping out at an all day work event yesterday. There was some downtime during the morning & lunch breaks, so I was able to get in a drawing.
I feel like I’m on a roll, here! That’s three posts in one week – I haven’t done that in quite some time! I’ll do my best to keep it up.
Here is the finished cat drawing from yesterday. I’m glad I went ahead & finished it, & I’m also glad I have a record of the unfinished drawing.
I found some crocuses while taking a walk during my lunch break yesterday & took some photos. Last night I decided to try & do another ink drawing & then color it in with watercolors & those crocuses were the subject. I sketched it out in light pencil again, then outlined in Micron pen, & (a more simplistic outline than I did with Mu yesterday), & then colored it in with watercolors.
I bought a new pocket-sized sketchbook a couple days ago which I’m pretty excited about! I broke it in with some doodling & little drawings that I haven’t bothered to post, but after my arm bone drawing last night I decided to try sketching out my cat Mu. This was done in very light 4H pencil first, then gone over in a Micron pen to add some fur & stripes.
