I’m attempting to make myself feel better about this one by pointing out that it’s a work in progress (WIP). I wanted to do something different from the ink animals I’ve been doing for a while now, so I broke out the Nupastels & decided to try a landscape, another thing I don’t think I ever try.
For week #2 of 2017, I finally finished a drawing I’d started about a month ago – I’m pretty sure it’s a black lab puppy. I’d already had the outline done & just wanted to add some details & shading.
Hello! I believe this has been my longest gap in posting, so it feels great to get another drawing up after all this time. I have been doing some drawing on and off, but mostly as gifts and I just haven’t had a chance to scan and upload the drawings after I’ve done them (and they are now out of my hands anyway).
I’m back after a waaaaaay too long absence! I’ve missed this blog & all of you lovely people out there. My life has been absorbed by music lately, which I think I’ve mentioned before. This is a good thing, but I’m not crazy about the lack of time I’ve spent on drawing this past year.
Wow, it’s been awhile since my last post! Ironically, I’ve actually done a bit of drawing in the past month, although my lack of updates doesn’t really show that. However, I’ve had some gift drawings that I’ve made for people & unfortunately never got around to scanning them. I think I’ll try to get them up in the future, though.
For now, you can check out this drawing of a kitten I did while helping out at an all day work event yesterday. There was some downtime during the morning & lunch breaks, so I was able to get in a drawing.
I think it’s a little sad that I haven’t drawn since Draw a Bird Day earlier this month. I think my schedule will start to ease up by the end of April, but in the meantime, I will still make an attempt to get back to drawing & posting regularly.
So with that goal in mind, here’s a reminder that even 5 minutes a day is better than nothing. I joined a coursera class called “How to Make a Comic Book”, because what better way to get me to make something like a comic than to sign up for a class & give me deadlines? Well, we’ll see if I actually finish the class, but the first assignment was to draw something in 5 minutes, so I chose to draw a quick rat from a reference photo.
I feel like I’m on a roll, here! That’s three posts in one week – I haven’t done that in quite some time! I’ll do my best to keep it up.
Here is the finished cat drawing from yesterday. I’m glad I went ahead & finished it, & I’m also glad I have a record of the unfinished drawing.
