My aunt has a book on landscapes in watercolor, so I was looking at it recently and decided to try one of the projects listed in the book – I’m pretty sure it was a painting of the Rockies somewhere. It was the very first project & introduces you to basic watercolor washes, layering, etc.
Not my most favorite piece on this blog, I have to admit! It didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. However, it also got me thinking about watercolor techniques a bit more that I hadn’t tried before, especially layering different colors on top of each other. I did a couple more paintings while I was away on vacation where I attempted to work on all of this, & I’ll post those soon.
