I feel like I’m on a roll, here! That’s three posts in one week – I haven’t done that in quite some time! I’ll do my best to keep it up.
Here is the finished cat drawing from yesterday. I’m glad I went ahead & finished it, & I’m also glad I have a record of the unfinished drawing.
I think the added details add some dimension to it, especially with the paws. I liked experimenting with the stripes. However, I think the scratching paw is partially obscured now, but not enough to ruin the drawing for me.
All these ink drawings are really making me want to start adding some color to these! Maybe I’ll give that a shot soon, either with my Winsor & Newton inks or some watercolor.
I have a growing list of animal suggestions from friends, so I’ll probably keep turning to that for a little while!
It’s called a cloud burst of inspiration or ambition. It burns out eventually. But, enjoy it while it lasts.
Good drawing.

I wish it happened more often, haha!

Be careful what you wish for…or, as they say, don’t get greedy. How many stories does someone put out about the person who wishes for more wishes or more money than they find on their journey one day? Then, they get the Midas touch or smothered in stuff they have no means of handling. You wish for more inspiration bursts, and you might not be able to sleep at night or ever because some sly god gave you a voice in your head that won’t quit.

I love this. There is an element of Egon Schiele in the thick outlines. So happy to have found your work–you write brilliantly too 🙂 Double hitter! It’s awesome to NOW be following you. With Gratitude and Joy, Zach from StrengthsLife.com

Ah, now you’ve introduced me to someone new – I was not familiar with Egon Schiele! Thank you for the kind words, Zach!

Keep your sketching supplies handy, and simply put pen to paper. I always have a few essentials with me (pens, travel watercolor kit, small sketch book). That is the trickiest part, but it indeed seems to become a habit.
Good luck, and thanks for sharing! 🙂

That’s a great idea! I really need to start carrying just a small pack of things with me so I have less of an excuse to do some sketching more often! Thanks!
